The SME sector suffers from a high tax burden, rising energy costs, and excessive bureaucracy. The construction and real estate industry is being hit particularly hard by increased interest rates, expensive building materials, and slow approval procedures, among other things. The situation puts jobs at risk and slows down the economy's growth. Yet the construction and real estate industry is a key driver of the German economy. It creates living space and secures millions of jobs - from craft businesses and architectural firms to property developers and investors.
As a self-employed person living and working in Frankfurt, I clearly support the two direct candidates, Yannick Schwander (constituency 181) and Leopold Born (constituency 182), in the 2025 Bundestag elections. Both stand for business-friendly policies that benefit small and medium-sized enterprises in particular. This was underlined once again today by Hesse's Minister President Boris Rhein at an event organized by the Frankfurt Union. The Christian Democrats are pursuing the goal of giving companies room to breathe again. Less bureaucracy, faster approval procedures, and tax relief are urgently needed to ensure the competitiveness of German SMEs.
After two years of recession, the German economy is facing another year of crisis in 2025. Germany has not experienced three years without economic growth since the Second World War. A course correction is necessary; therefore, it is the first and second vote for the Christian Democrats.
