When I reflect on this week, the location factor accessibility was undoubtedly one of the dominant topics in Germany. The Verdi trade union has once again made us all aware of how dependent our everyday lives and the economy are on a functioning transport infrastructure. Different factors are always taken into account when assessing locations. The accessibility of a property is certainly an important aspect.
For example, I work in Frankfurt's Messeturm. The high-rise building is reminiscent of the Art Deco era of around 100 years ago, thanks to its striking building structure and a façade of shiny polished red granite. Thanks to its successful architecture, the Messeturm is considered a Frankfurt landmark with a high profile throughout Germany. I have never met a person in the real estate industry who was not familiar with the Messeturm in Frankfurt.
Accessibility was an important factor for me when choosing the location. The Messeturm's convenient location on the B44 and B8 allows me to get to the highway quickly. As I work nationwide, this is an important point for me. The Messeturm is also the only high-rise building in Frankfurt with a direct subway station. As long as the Verdi trade union doesn't go on strike, as it has this week, the public transport connections are normally also excellent.
Accessibility is a decisive factor in the success of real estate locations. A location is only as good as its accessibility. Without reliable public transport connections and fast highway access, users' attractiveness decreases. Property values depend on more than just square meters and rents.
